Bendigo CBD

Hi all!

The last two days I've been working in town firing up two old nodes that have been offline for some months after some unexpected issues arose. There is now coverage in the Market Place and Hargreaves Mall and other surrounding areas.

The Discovery Centre hosts a 8dBi omni on it's rooftop and the Multi-Storey Car Park in Hargreaves St hosts a 12dBi omni. After rectifying the issues I installed a new Ubiquiti BulletM2HP at each node. Both need further work which will dramatically improve performance and will be carried out ASAP.

Quarry Hill Node

Hello All!

Today Steffan and I were at the Quarry Hill relay-point doing some maintenance and decided to add a 2.4GHz Omni. This will allow the majority of Flora Hill to gain access as well as parts of Kennington, East Bendigo, White Hills and Spring Gully (Though if you are in Spring Gully, be sure to avoid all those dirty gum trees!). It will be powered up this evening so do get out your WiFi gear and do a scan if you are in the area!

BeWiFi Long Gully Node

Last Friday the 26th of June, Stef Stanway from Sandhurst IT Services and I started work on the new node in Long Gully. The node consists of three 120º/40º 9dBi 2.4GHz Sector Antennas powered by 3 Ubiquiti SR2 mini-pci cards on a Mikrotik Routerboard 433. The backhaul is one 24dBi 5.8GHz parabolic reflector with a Ubiquiti Bullet5 radio.
